With sad hearts we announce the passing of William (Bill) Kurzweil , age 74, on Saturday, June 12. Bill was born in Plainfield, NJ, then grew up in the Elmora Section of Elizabeth, NJ. He resided for many years in Colonia and Clark, NJ eventually retiring and moving to Waretown, NJ. Bill proudly served in the U.S. Army. He worked for the Hillside Police Department, retiring as a Detective, a job he loved.
He was a devoted husband, father, son, grandson, grandfather and brother. He and his wife, Kathy loved traveling and being with their family and friends. Bill loved the beach and fishing and was very proud of his Irish heritage.
He was predeceased by his parents, Doris and William (Lee) Kurzweil, and his grandmother, Helen (GG) Kurzweil. He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Kathy. Also survived by his daughters, Kimberly Horvath and her husband Robert, Kerry Daddato and her husband Frank and his daughter through love, Kristy DiVito and her husband Joe; his grandchildren, Jamie, Robby, Frankie, Briana, Zachary and Allison; his two sisters, Carol Krug and her late husband John, Judy Krug and her husband Rich; his brother, Kevin Kurzweil and his wife Jackie. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Bill’s life will be celebrated at a Mass at St. Mary’s Church, Barnegat, NJ, on Tuesday, June 22, at 9:30am, followed by Military Honors. (www.BarnegatFH.com)
