William Dolan, 87, of Waretown, NJ passed on Thursday, June 25, 2026 after a long illness. Born in Elizabeth, NJ, to his late parents, John and Winifred Dolan, he proudly served his country as a Veteran of the United States Army National Guard. Throughout his life, William embraced many chapters; he raised his family in Scotch Plains, Garwood, and Cranford, and spent 19 rewarding years operating a working farm in Whitehouse Station, NJ before ultimately settling in Waretown. He was a dedicated member of Plumbers Local 300 and Steamfitter Local 475 since 1978. He was also a devoted parishioner of St. Mary's Parish for fourteen years. In his retirement, William cherished spending his winter months in Florida, where he built lasting memories and deep friendships. Above all else, his greatest joy was his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years,  Leona Dolan; loving children, Jeffrey Dolan (Cynthia), Richard Dolan, Diane Miller (Mark) and Thomas Dolan;  six cherished grandchildren, Christopher, Tara, Michael and Raymond Dolan, Andrew and Catherine Miller. He is predeceased by his brother, Richard Dolan. 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 W. Bay Ave., Barnegat, NJ. Mass offered Wednesday, 9:30 AM at St. Mary's Church, Barnegat, NJ. Interment and Military Honors to follow in Hillside Cemetery, Plainfield, NJ.
