Virginia "Ginger" Sayre

Virginia “Ginger” Sayre, 69, of Barnegat passed at home on Friday, July 9, 2021. Born in New York City to her late parents, Philip and Veronica Engel, she was raised in Middletown, NJ where she attended high school and graduated with the class of 1970. She lived in West Valley, NY and Toms River, NJ; having worked at Kohl’s as a Store Manager in the Brick, NJ store for 14 years before retiring in 2014; moving to Barnegat over 35 years ago. Ginger found joy and relaxation in tending to her gardens and growing flowers. Her greatest love was for her large family, especially her fourteen grandchildren whom she adored.

She was also predeceased by her daughter, Jennifer Nesci;  two brothers, Butch and Ronald Engel; two sisters, Patty Godley and Diane O’Rourke.

Surviving are her beloved husband, George Sayre; five loving children and their spouses, Keith Nesci, Amanda Bornhardt, George and Joanna Sayre, Joanna and B.J. Arnold, Chris and Maranatha Sayre; fourteen grandchildren, Logan, Noah, Brody, Bryce, George, Garrett, Gavin, Matthias, Thaddaeus, Shekinah, Ben, Elizabeth, Julianna and Judah; her sister, Barbara, and her husband, Billy Toth; her brother, John Engel, and his wife Sara; two brothers-in-law, Jimmy O'Rourke and Vic Godley; sister-in-law, Dottie Engel. 

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, July 16, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:30 PM with Funeral Services to begin 4:30 PM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 W. Bay Ave., Barnegat, NJ. (www.BarnegatFH.com)
