Thomas Ronan Obituary

Thomas A. Ronan, 96, of Manahawkin N.J., passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2023 of natural causes. Thomas was born on January 8, 1927, to his late parents, Thomas A. Ronan and Mary C. Barry in Harrison New Jersey. After Thomas graduated from Our Lady Queen of Peace high school in 1944, he went on to study political science and business at Seton Hall University.

After graduating with a degree in business, he started his first job at Gulf Oil Corporation as a salesman working his way up to senior level management, kick starting a thirty-five-year career in sales, marketing and real estate for Gulf Oil and then Chevron. In 1944, Thomas met Helen J. Fried at the Lincoln Theatre in North Arlington N.J. Thomas and Helen went on to have two children, Timothy and James. In 1984, Thomas retired and spent his time playing golf, softball, and bowling. He was a faithful usher at St. Mary’s of the Pines Church for 34 years; as well as being the Vice Commander at the American Legion with continuous service for 78 years.

Surviving are his two loving sons, James and Timothy. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Helen, and younger brothers, Joe and Jim and his sister, Mary.
