Theresa R. DiStefano

Theresa R. DiStefano, 83, of Barnegat, NJ passed on Thursday, February 12, 2026. Born in Paterson, NJ to her late parents, Anthony and Concettina DiStefano, she has been a resident of Barnegat since the 1970’s. Theresa devoted her entire career to the noble vocation of an X-Ray Technician. Her commitment to healthcare was evident to all who worked alongside her. She retired from the Community Medical Center in Toms River. She loved the beach and the boardwalk. Wildwood, in particular, held a special place in her heart. Above all, Theresa's greatest pride and joy were her family and friends. Her love for her son was boundless. She gave him the world and was the best mother he could have ever asked for. Her stern personality was tempered by her warm and generous nature, always ready to extend a helping hand to anyone in need. She leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication.  

She is survived by her beloved son, Jeffrey DiStefano; loving sister, Jeanette Jaworski (the late Robert), nieces and nephew, Dana Jaworski, Bobby Jaworski and his wife, Maureen, Jessica Jaworski, Christina and her husband, Jason Swanson; as well as 4 great-nephews.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026 from 12 to 3 PM with a Blessing at 2:30 PM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 W. Bay Ave., Barnegat, NJ.
