Theodore Robert Phillps, 73, of Waretown, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Sunday, March 23, 2025. Born December 8, 1951 in Newark, NJ, he was raised in his family’s Flower shop, Phillips Florist, in Irvington, NJ. He spent his teenage years vacationing at the family home on Barnegat Bay. With his wife Karen (nee Masterson), he later moved his young family to Waretown to raise his two girls Christine Feustel (James) and Melanie Borg (Graham). He was a proud member of Plumber’s Union Local 24 and used his skill to help family and friends any time they needed. Teddy, Big Ted, or Theo, he was known for his loud voice, was always the life of the party and - if you met him once - you remembered him forever. He loved outdoor recreation, including boating, fishing, crabbing, golf, gardening, or just sitting by the bay to read The Post and have a coffee and bagel. Ted also loved to support his grandsons’ sports, including volleyball and Blackhawks Ice Hockey. He enjoyed his Westerns, any social gathering, and the company of family and friends. We will remember his fun stories, good times, generosity, and love.
He is predeceased by his parents Theodore W. and Florence Phillips and his brother William T. Phillips. He is survived by his wife and daughters, sons-in-law, and his four beloved grandchildren, Tanyon Borg, Emerson Borg, Connor Feustel, and Bernadette Feustel. He is fondly remembered by his cousins, in-laws, and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial Gathering will be held on Sunday, March 30, 2025 from 12 to 3 PM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 West Bay Ave,, Barnegat, NJ. (www.BarnegatFH.com)
