Theodore Arthur McLernon, born November 2, 1931, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2020. He was born and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey. He served in the Army during the Korean War, stationed in Japan as a Military Police Officer. It was while he was serving in Tokyo, Japan, that he met our mother, Mihoko Siguichi. After he was discharged, he returned to Japan and married our mother and had three children together, Thomas McLernon, James McLernon and Maggie (McLernon) Cassidy. Teddy and Mihoko moved back to the United States, where they raised their children in Fords and Colonia, New Jersey. Teddy worked for Firestone Tire and Rubber Company as a Store Manager and worked himself up to Regional Sales Manager. Teddy worked his way up to Number One in New Dealer Sales in the Country. Teddy and Mihoko enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, Bahamas, Puerto Rico and more. They spent a lot of time in Florida, where Teddy's parents lived. He is survived by his son, Thomas and wife, Kathleen McLernon and his daughter Maggie (McLernon) Cassidy. He was Grandfather to Zachary, Jacob and Connor McLernon, Caitlin Mann and Christopher Cassidy. He is Great Grandfather to Arya McLernon, Olivia Matech and Audrey May Matech. He is Uncle to William, Robert and Kevin Poss. He is predeceased by his parents, Theodore and Eleanor McLernon, his sister, Eleanor Poss and his son, James John McLernon.
In the interest of public safety, a private family viewing will be held Friday, April 3, 2020, from 10-11 AM, with a Blessing at 11 AM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 West Bay Avenue, Barnegat, NJ. Interment to follow in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia, NJ. (www.Barnegatfh.com)
