Teresa Gray Lewis (79) of Barnegat, NJ, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026. She was born August 31, 1946, in Spooner, MN, to Karl and Esther Graham. Teresa, or "Terry" as she was known, was a 1964 graduate of Southern Regional High School. She attended Stockton State College and Rutgers University, ultimately achieving her Master of Social Work degree.
She was a dedicated member of Wright Memorial Presbyterian Church for 50 years and, more recently, a member of Ocean Community Church. She worked for Bell Telephone in Manahawkin as a young adult, but her true calling was helping others. She served as a counselor and eventually became the director of the St. Francis Counseling Service on Long Beach Island.
She loved traveling and crossword puzzles, but she took special pride in her gardening—especially the beautiful garden she tended adjacent to the Wright Memorial Presbyterian Church for all to enjoy.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert; her parents, Karl and Esther; her sister, Sandra; her brother, Neil; and her nephew, Troy. She is survived by her six children, Mike, John, Tim, Cyndi, Dory, and Ben; her nephew, Trent; her three grandchildren, Olivia, Jackson, and Ruby; her great-grandson, Preston, who gave her much joy and light in the final year of her life; and many dear friends. She was loved by all who knew her and will be missed by many.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor may be made to Ocean Community Church in Manahawkin, NJ.
A Memorial Gathering will be held July 17, 2026, at 9:30 AM at Ocean Community Church, with a service to follow at 10:00 AM. Following the service, interment of her ashes will take place at Barnegat Memorial Cemetery.
