Sylvia Bator

Sylvia Bator, 86, of Barnegat, NJ, passed on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 peacefully at home. Born in Newark, NJ to her late parents, Alipio and Loretta Lopes, she was a graduate of East Side High School in Newark. A long time resident of Ocean County, she has been a resident of Barnegat for 10 years. Sylvia worked in the Health care profession in Community Medical Center and Southern Ocean Medical Center, and also was a volunteer at S.O.M.C.

Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Eugene; two loving sons, Gregory E. Bator, Sr. and Eugene F. Bator, Jr., and his wife, Sandra; four cherished grandchildren, Greg, Jr., Laura, Jessie, Eugene III; seven great-grandchildren, Lennon, Harlow, Mila, River, Jesse, Jr., Emma and Emilia; devoted dog, Scooter.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2023 from 4-7 PM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 West Bay Avenue, Barnegat, NJ. Funeral Mass offered Friday, 9:30 am at St. Mary's Church, , Barnegat. Interment to follow in Bg. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Vet. Mem. Cem., Arneytown. (www.BarnegatFH.com)
