Simone Abenante

Simone Abenante, 97, of Manahawkin, NJ passed on Friday, February 6, 2026 peacefully at home. Born in Palis, France, to her late parents, Gaston and Flore Jaillon, she immigrated to the United States in 1946 with her husband whom she met while he was in the Army stationed in France during WWII and later returned to marry her. They lived in Richmond Hill, Queens for 40 years before moving to Manahawkin 30 years ago. Simone enjoyed shopping and above all she loved her family and being a homemaker. 

Predeceased by her husband, Anthony D., she is survived by her loving daughter, Michele Reichert and two adored nieces.

Visitation will be held at St. Mary Of The Pines Church, Manahawkin, NJ on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 from 10:30 to 11:00 AM followed by Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Manahawkin.
