Sharon L. Auer

Sharon L. Auer, 73, of Little Egg Harbor, NJ passed on Saturday, November 8, 2025. Raised in Forked River, NJ by her late parents, Howard and Anna Cowdrick, she married Frank Pocsi with whom she had three sons and ultimately predeceased her at a young age. She later met and married Thomas Auer resulting in a wonderful extended family, which was most important part of Sharon’s personal life. Professionally, she served as Registrar for Barnegat Township for many years before retiring.

She was also predeceased by her husband, Thomas Auer and her son, Jason Pocsi. She is survived by two loving sons, Frank Pocsi and his wife, Jeannie and Justin Pocsi and his wife, Kerri; two loving step-daughters, Christina Venezia and her husband, Frank and April Purtell and her husband, Brian; fourteen cherished grandchildren, Frankie, Brianna, Selena, Mandi, Marissa, Antonio, Christine, Tyler, Travis, Kaitlyn, Colin, Emma, Michael, John; three adored great-grandchildren, Ariella, Carter and Jordan; brother, Butch Cowdrick; sister, Chris Allen and husband, Ron; brother, Curt Cowdrick and his girlfriend, Barbara (Bobbi) O’Bry;  sisters-in-law, Ethel Scavuzzo and Kathy Barneman; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 12 to 4 PM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 West Bay Ave., Barnegat, NJ. Private Cremation to follow.  (www.BarnegatFH.com)
