Russell Cox Obituary

Russell John Cox passed away on October 11, 2021 at his home in Matawan, NJ.

Russell was born in Summit, NJ to Kevin and Kathleen Cox on February 28, 1976.  The youngest of three boys, Russ was the comedian of the family and always gave his mom and dad a run for their money.  Russell graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in October of 1997. Then going on to work at multiple world class, 5 star restaurants.  Although his passion was cooking when he put his mind to it he was a master of all trades.  Russell unfortunately suffered from mental illness and was diagnosed with bipolar depression when he was in his late teens.  He battled drug addiction and the ups and downs of his bipolar disorder every day of his life.  He conquered his drug addiction multiple times and learned to deal with the hand he was dealt.  Russell had a very strong relationship with his mom and dad who were always there for him; supporting and loving him unconditionally.  He loved his brothers immensely and they had a very strong bond.  Russell enjoyed fishing and hanging out with his family.  He had a deep love for each of his four nieces, two nephews and his great niece; he was always supportive in their lives.  Russell had a heart of gold and was very much loved by his family and friends.

Russell is preceded in death by his oldest brother Kevin Michael Cox.

Russell is survived by his mother, Kathleen and father, Kevin Cox; his brother, Jeffrey and sister in-law, Michelle Cox; sister in-law, Tricia Cox; nieces, Kelsey, Jordan, Erin and Ellie Cox; great niece, Payton Cox and nephews, Mason and Austin Cox.
