Rosemary Alessandro, 82, of Waretown, NJ passed peacefully at home on Saturday, May 27, 2023. Rosemary graduated from Ladycliff Academy in Highland Falls, NY in 1958. She started a career working for the FBI before moving to Somerset, NJ to raise her 5 children. As her children were growing, she started a new career at Saint Peter’s Medical Center as the Assistant Manager of the Medical Records Department.
Once she retired, Rosemary and her husband Dan made the move “down the shore” in 2000. They immersed themselves into the retirement lifestyle. Socializing with their new friends, playing bocce on the “Roe’s Buds” team at Greenbriar. She enjoyed traveling, doing her crossword puzzles and watching her crime TV shows.
Rosemary’s happiest times were when she was with her family and good friends. She enjoyed celebrating holidays at her home, going to family events or just sitting at home at the kitchen table just chatting because her signature phrase was "You are always welcome, hon!"
The family would like to thank her caregiver Rosanna, for the kindness and compassion she showed toward Rosemary during the last month of her life.
Rosemary is survived by her devoted and beloved husband of 30 years, Daniel; her five cherished children, William (Maggie) Negvesky, Laura (Sal) DiFranco, Thomas A. Negvesky, Michael (Carol) Negvesky, James (Sooki) Negvesky, her stepchildren, Paul (Christine) Alessandro, Deborah Alessandro and husband John Lauder; fourteen grandchildren (her chickens), Billy (Breana) Negvesky, Vicki (Jesse) Negvesky, Mikey (Lisa) Negvesky, Aimee (Dan) Psinakis, Kristina (Russell) Stephenson, Kimberly (fiancé Dave) DiFranco, Alexis Negvesky, Richard (Zyhri) Negvesky, Gabrielle Negvesky, Dylan Negvesky, James Alessandro, Alexis Alessandro, Channa Lauder and Alex Lauder; eight precious great grandchildren, Brayden and Mackenzie Negvesky, Jacob and Logan Psinakis, Cassandra, Erik and Lucas Stephenson and Lorelai Negvesky; her sister-in-law, Alice Mannix, niece and nephews, Laura Mannix Spring (John), Billy Mannix (Sophia), Danny Mannix (Alicia) and many great nieces and nephews.
Rosemary is predeceased by her parents, Mary and Richard Mannix; her brother, William Mannix; her husband, Gabriel Castellanos and her great-grandson, Matthew Psinakis.
Visitation Thursday, June 1, 2023 from 5 to 8 PM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 W. Bay Ave., Barnegat, NJ. Mass offered Friday, 10 AM at St. Mary’s Church, Barnegat. Private cremation to follow. (www.BarnegatFH.com)
