Robert Brinley Obituary

Robert Francis Brinley (90) of Palm City, FL, beloved husband of the late Barbara M. Brinley, passed away on December 29th, 2024, at Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin, NJ.  He was born on June 21st, 1934 in Jersey City, NJ to Frank and Marie Brinley.  He is survived by his older sister, Claire Weber of East Brunswick, NJ.

After graduating from Dickinson High School in Jersey City, NJ, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was a Korean War Veteran.  After meeting Barbara, the love of his life, they moved to Avenel, NJ. Bob worked for NJ Bell and later Bell Atlantic, moving up the ranks from repairman to manager.   Palm City, FL is where they retired where Bob helped the handyman of the development on a daily basis. If anyone needed help with anything, Bob was on the job!  In his spare time, Bob loved to watch and play baseball, was a softball player on a team in Woodbridge, NJ, was a member of bowling leagues, played tennis, and rode his bike all over Palm City.

His family meant the world to him.  He leaves behind his children:  Catherine Brown, Scott Brinley and his wife Lorraine, and Linda Brinley-McGlynn.  He was very proud of his grandchildren:  Charlene, Katelin and her husband Michael, Chelsea and her husband Kevin, Lisanne and her fiancé Mason, Glen, Leah, Julia and her husband Mark, and Olivia and her fiancé Lou.  He was also blessed with amazing great grandchildren:  Connor, Claire, and his namesake, Brinley.  He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

A Memorial Mass will will be held at Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church in Palm City, Florida at a later date.
