Richard B. Sweigart

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Richard Sweigart, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Richard was the heart of his family, and his greatest joy in life was the love he shared with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Virginia Sweigart; his daughter, Melissa Ferrea; his son, Sean Sweigart; his grandchildren, Patrick Ferrea, Heather Krafft, and Douglas Ferrea; and his great-grandchildren, Remy, Atlas, and Josette.

Richard had a special gift for making holidays magical. Memories and moments of joy that his family will carry with them forever. He made all feel deeply loved and cherished. His warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion to his family will never be forgotten.

We invite all who knew and loved Richard to join us in honoring his life and memory.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025 from 9 to 11 AM with a Blessing at 11:00 AM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 West Bay Ave., Barnegat, NJ 08005. Entombment to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Manahawkin. (www.BarnegatFH.com)
