Richard Sked passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He was devoted husband to Linda Sked, sharing 17 wonderful years together. A caring and loving father, Rick is survived by Linda's children, Chris Danzo and Emily Danzo, along with Emily‘s fiancé, Paul Carluccio, Jr. He was predeceased by Linda's beloved son, David Danzo.
Rick will be deeply missed by his family, including his mother-in-law, Jane Knox; his sister-in-law, Jamie Knox Nalvarte and her husband Chevi Nalvarte, and Kathleen Harman; his brother-in-law Gary John Knox Jr,; his nephews, Austin Knox, and his wife, Jessica Knox, Eric Rizzitello, Nicholas, Rizzitello, and Rowan Harman; and his niece, Darby Harman.
He was also a proud great-uncle to his great-nieces, Annalee Knox and Delilah Knox.
Beyond his love for family, Rick had a deep passion for the water. He found joy and peace on Barnegat Bay, spending time with his cousin Pat Lauer, embracing the beauty and serenity of the sea. Rick's Passion for the water was not just a hobby, but way of life. For many years, he worked at the Forked River State Marina, where he found joy and fulfillment in his role. The marina wasn’t just a job for Rick. It was a place where he could immerse himself in his love for the water and share that enthusiasm with everyone he met.
He took immense pride in caring for the boats, the docks and the people who visited. Whether helping someone new to boating or chatting with seasoned sailors, ricks warmth, knowledge, and love for the sea were evident to all. His dedication and hard work made him a beloved member of the marina community, and his absence will be deeply filled by colleagues and friends alike.
Rick's memory will live on in the heart of all who knew and loved him. His kindness, warmth, and adventurous spirit will never be forgotten.
