Richard Engebretsen, Jr.

Richard Engebretsen,, Jr., 74, of Barnegat, NJ passed on Saturday, May 24, 2025 peacefully at home. Born in New York, NY to his late parents, Richard and Maria Engebretsen, Sr., he leaves behind a legacy of service and commitment to his country.

Richard had a commendable lifelong career in the United States Air Force, as well as the United States Army, which he retired from after 35 years. He was dedicated to not only his country, but to his community as he served as a security officer in Ocean County.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Soontari; two loving step-sons, Pholkan Lertburanakan and Pollakit Lertburanakan; two cherished granddaughters, Pimpakan and Pimchanak; cherished grandson, Pichayut Lertburanakan; devoted brother, Carl and wife, Yong Engebretsen.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025 from 2 to 5  PM with a Blessing and Military Honors to begin 5:00 PM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 West Bay Ave., Barnegat, NJ. Private Cremation to follow. (www.BarnegatFH.com)
