Richard P. Emmerich, Jr.

2/18/1947 - 12/7/2025 

Richard P. Emmerich Jr., (78), passed away on December 7th 2025 at HMH Southern Ocean Medical Center, Manahawkin, NJ. Born in Jersey City, NJ he was the son of the late Richard (Boppy) P. Emmerich Sr. and Florence James.

Richard served in the US Navy as an ABH2 officer from 1967 - 1970. His hobbies included cooking, car shows and trips to Atlantic City. He was the household handy man with a slap-stick humor and was frequently complimented on the signature cologne he always wore. Most importantly he was a devoted husband, beloved father, cherished friend and his favorite title of all "PopPop" to his beautiful granddaughter Ares.

He is survived by wife Dorothy J Emmerich, sons (2) Damian Emmerich, Richard Emmerich III, daughter's (2) Lindsey Emmerich, Heather Emmerich and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his sister Florence A. Capezzuto.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025 from 2 to 4 PM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 W. Bay Ave., Barnegat, NJ. Private Cremation to follow. (www.BarnegatFH.com)
