Obituary

Richard Carl Mollenkopf passed away suddenly on April 7, 2023. He was a lifelong resident of Barnegat. Richard was born April 14, 1940 to Marie L. Mollenkopf and Carl F. Mollenkopf. Richard married the love of his life, Carol A. Gale on March 19, 1960.

Richard served in the United States Air Force from November 1957 until June 1962 as a morse code interceptor. He worked for Gannett Group as a Pressman and proof reader until his retirement.

Richard’s love for automobiles and motorcycles was his passion. He was a walking-encyclopedia on anything having to do with motors. He would help anyone at any time fix anything related to mechanics. His passion for motorcycles was also reflected by his lifetime membership with the East Coast Enduro Riders Association and the American Motorcyclist Association.

Richard leaves behind his beloved daughter, Dawn M. Rosser and son-in-law, Ronald W. Rosser of Manahawkin. He also leaves behind a brother, Carl Mollenkopf (Cindie) of Pataskala, OH; daughter-in-law, Patty Mollenkopf of Barnegat; grandchildren, Ashley Koch (Sam), Shelby Heath (Dylan), John (Franky) Keller (Kayla), Cale Mollenkopf, Jordan Rosser, Wyatt Mollenkopf; along with his great-grandsons.

Richard is predeceased by his wife, Carol A. Mollenkopf; mother, Marie L. Mollenkopf (Wheeler); father, Carl F. Mollenkopf; son, Richard W. Mollenkopf and a brother, Walter F. Mollenkopf.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023 from 12-4 PM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 West Bay Avenue, Barnegat, NJ. Private Cremation to follow. (www.BarnegatFH.com)
