Peter J. Pantina

“We are sad to announce the passing of Peter Pantina, 68, of Barnegat N.J. Pete passed away after a long and courageous battle on Tuesday, April 11th, 2023.

Born in Elizabeth, N.J. he grew up in Kenilworth N.J., before moving to Barnegat.

Pete worked for his father for Pantina Landscaping, and worked with his father at the Cranford Post Office for many years where he became supervisor. Eventually he transferred to Toms River Post Office and served many years as manager. His career grew and he retired as postmaster of Long Beach Island. In retirement, he worked for Compass Group for Barnegat Township schools and was known as “Mr. Pete.”

Pete is predeceased by his father Pete S. Pantina and brother-in-law Gary Walck. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Diane Pantina (Melendy), his two loving sons, Anthony Pantina in Barnegat and Peter Pantina Jr., and daughter-in-law Melissa in Philadelphia, His mother Anna Pantina (Noviello), 95, of Manchester, and siblings Mary Walck of Smithville, Michael Pantina and sister-in-law Rosalia Pantina (Randazzo) of Monmouth Beach, Donna Peterson (Pantina) and brother-in-law Carl Peterson of Clark, and Karen Pantina. Brother and sister-in-law Michael Filippone and Michele (Melendy) of Barnegat and Carol Spera (Melendy) of Wall.

He had many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

He will be greatly missed by many.
