Paul Fedele Obituary

Paul Fedele completed his journey on earth on January 23, 2021 after a long arduous battle with congestive heart disease and pulmonary hypertension. Paul was born on June 10, 1938 in Brooklyn, NY to Vincenzo Fedele and Annunciata (Ciccone ) Fedele who predeceased him.

He attended Salesian Brothers of Don Bosco BoardingHigh School in New Rochelle, NY and graduated from Poly Prep in Brooklyn, NY. He went on to study Architecture and Building Science at Pratt Institute. Paul spent two years in the Army in Germany during the “Berlin Crisis” as a Corporal, S3 Operations with a Top Secret Clearance.

He started his career at MW Kellogg in New York, NY. He also worked for CF Braun, Chemico and was with Jacobs Engineering Group for over 25 years as the Manager of Project Services and Chief Estimator in the Mountainside, NJ office and was also responsible for the Project Controls in the Chicago, Puerto Rico and Ireland offices. Projects varied from Petrochemical, Waste Treatment, Pharmaceutical and Biotech. He traveled extensively and frequently throughout the United States and internationally, including Belgium, England, France, Holland, Norway, Ireland, Germany, Denmark, Brazil, Austria and Japan and South America. After retiring from Jacobs, he worked for Gilbane Advanced Technology Group as Director of Project Controls from 1993-2003. He went on to work as a consultant until his final retirement due to poor health at the age of 78.

He was highly respected and sought after throughout the engineering field in the chemical, pharmaceutical and biotech industries. His strongest suit was Conceptual/ Schematic Estimating of large projects with a high degree of accuracy.

Paul met his wife Anastasia, the love of his life, through mutual friends on a beach at Rocky Point, NY and from that time the beach was a big part of their lives. They were married for 55 years. They lived in Manalapan, NJ signing a contract for their first home on their first anniversary.  Twelve years later they moved to Branchburg, NJ and lived there for 25 years while owning and maintaining a summer home in Forked River, NJ. They retired to Forked River and eventually moved to Barnegat, NJ.

The most important part of his life was his family. He was immensely proud of his children and grandchildren and their accomplishments. He loved fishing, boating, cooking, sending many of “Dad’s Famous Recipes” to his children to continue the Italian Traditions.  In his younger years, he belonged to hunting clubs in the Hunterdon/ Somerset NJ area and enjoyed duck hunting in the Manahawkin area. He was a World War II History buff and could talk for hours on the battles, generals and all the nuances of that time. Hi interests also included a good chess game, and music ranging from Sinatra to Opera.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Anastasia and three children, Vincent Fedele (Katherine), Easton, PA, Peter Fedele (Theresa), Easton, PA and Christina Holman (Kenneth Holman,) Stewartsville, NJ. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Samantha, Jason, Paul, Jordan, Gianna and Peter. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Rosemarie Monaghan of Fort Meyers, FL and extended family of nieces and nephews and cousins.
