Paul F.X. Anthony, 77, of Barnegat, NJ passed on Monday, November 3, 2025.
Predeceased by his parents, Paul and Barbara Anthony, he survived by his wife, Madeline, who he married December 7, 1975. He is also survived by his son, Matthew and his wife, Corin, his daughter, Tonia Andrews and her husband Alan; his grandchildren, Onyx, Ethan, Dylan, Maddy; and his brothers, Jim and Bill; and many nieces and nephews who loved spending time with.
Born in Holy Name Hospital, he graduated River Dell High School in 1966. He went to Stephens College for two years, then he worked for Groov-Pin Corp., , Fun Truckin, Clinton, Bogert and BD, where he designed the Sponge Bob thermometer.
He was a scoutmaster for Oradells Troop 36 and led many boys on camping trips, including winter camping in Alpine and camping at Floodwood in the Adirondacks, giving many boys wonderful life experiences. He also enjoyed fishing, especially for striped bass. However, his love was designing and building engines for his race cars, dragster and go-karts. He received the design engine award in Canada in 1976 for his air shifter in the dragster. He was a loving husband and brother, an amazing father and a fun grandfather and uncle. Everyone who met Paul loved him. He was so caring with a great sense of humor he will be missed by all who knew him, family, friends, and neighbors.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025 from 4 to 8 PM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 West Bay Ave., Barnegat, NJ. Mass offered Saturday, 9:30 AM at St. Mary's Church, Barnegat, NJ. Private Cremation to follow. (www.BarnegatFH.com)
