Patrick J. Delaney

Patrick J. Delaney, age 90, of Barnegat, NJ passed away at Southern Ocean Medical Center, Manahawkin, NJ on March 8, 2020.  He was born in Brooklyn NY, where he met the love of his life Coreen “Honey” Loranger and moved to South River, NJ to raise their family. A US Army Veteran of the Korean War, Patrick earned his BA Degree from St. John’s University, Queens, NY and furthered his educational pursuit by earning his MA Degree from Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ. He worked as an Assistant Principal for the High School of Graphic Communication Arts in New York City, before retiring to Barnegat. He was a member and past Chaplain of the VFW Post 10092, and member of the American Legion Post 232 both of Barnegat, NJ

He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 63 years, Coreen “Honey” Delaney on November 7, 2019.  He was blessed with five loving children and their spouses; Kathleen and Lance Sweeney, James and Gina Delaney, Patrick and Maria Delaney, John Delaney and Fiancé Tori Ferris, Colleen and Sean Petlick. He has 12 cherished grandchildren, Chelsea, Gabrielle, Shane, Samantha, Christian, Shannon, Alyssa, Matthew, Corinne, Jake, Dylan, Max and 1 cherished step grandchild, Jocelyn. He was predeceased by his grandson, Brandon.

Patrick was a dedicated husband and father first and foremost. He treasured his children and embraced every moment with them. He especially loved his role as grandfather.

 Viewing Wednesday, March 11, 2020 from 4 to 7 PM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 W. Bay Ave., Barnegat. Mass offered Thursday 10:45 AM at St. Mary’s Church, Barnegat. Interment in Bg. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Vet. Mem. Cemetery, Arneytown.
