Nora Hoyt Fried Obituary

Nora A. Hoyt Fried (nee) Powers, 86 of Barnegat, NJ passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 peacefully in her home surrounded by her loved ones. Nora was born November 28, 1937 in New York City to her late parents Walter and Mary Powers.

Survived by her loving husband Arthur A. Fried. Mother to Eileen P. Hoyt-Fernandez (Leonardo), William L. Hoyt (Kaitlin) and the late Nora T. Hoyt-Carter and Robert J. Hoyt. Grandmother (Mom-Mom) to Amanda M. Carter, Keara N. Fernandez, Liam R. Hoyt (Denise Connolly), Logan M. Fernandez, Ava E. Hoyt, Timothy and Jack O’Dwyer. Great-grandmother to Philip K. Jant III. Was preceded in death by her five brothers and two sisters: Walter Powers, John Powers, James Powers, Patrick Powers, William Powers, Margaret Wozny (nee) Powers, and Eileen Powers. Survived by sisters-in-law, Cheryl Powers and Catherine Powers. Aunt to Casey, Eugene, Christine, Patrick, Daniel, Michael, Brian, Tim, James Jr., Stephen, and Lynne. She was also known as Aunt Nora or Mom-mom to much loved family members. Loyal friend to all her Barnegat friends and those that knew her.

Visitation will be held Sunday, November 24, 2024 from 2 to 6 PM at the Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 W. Bay Ave., Barnegat. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Monday 11 AM at St. Mary’s Church, Barnegat. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Manahawkin. (www. BarnegatFH.com)
