Muriel Von Duerring

Muriel Von Duerring, 95, of Waretown, NJ passed on Tuesday, August 12, 2025. Born in Maspeth, NY to her late parents, Frank and Catherine Von Duerring, she worked for many years at Gouverneur Hospital in NYC before retiring to Waretown, NJ.  She quickly became an integral part of the community.  She was an active member of St. Mary's Church and the Barnegat Beach Civic Association.  Muriel was always giving of her time and volunteered for many organizations including the Popcorn Park Zoo, St Bernard's Food for Pets, Ken's Kitchen & SOCH Thrift Shop.  Her fondness and caring for all of God's creatures big & small earned her the nickname "Mother Nature". 

Muriel is survived by her nephews George VonDuerring, Steven VonDuerring, and niece Paula Young (VonDuerring).  As well as her NJ family, Brigitte Newman, James & Maryanne Newman, Eric & Elizabeth Newman, Alexandra, Christian & Mary Newman.

We will miss you Mother Nature.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 1 to 2 PM with a Blessing at 1:45 PM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 West Bay Ave., Barnegat, NJ.
