Michael Andrew “Andy” Watts passed away on March 8, 2026, in Barnegat, New Jersey.
Andy was the beloved son of Mike and Susan Watts of Edmond, Oklahoma, and a devoted father to his three children, Grace Elizabeth Watts, Eva Domenica Watts, and Gavin Andrew Watts, all of Barnegat, New Jersey. He is also survived by his brother, Joe Watts (Julie Watts), and his sister, Sarah Watts (Jimmy Ingles), both of Edmond, Oklahoma; his former wife, Alyson Watts, and her parents, Fred and Denise DeMonte; and his cherished nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly. Andy was preceded in death by his sister, Maggie Marlin, also of Edmond.
Born in 1972 at the U.S. Marine Corps base dispensary in Twentynine Palms, California, Andy spent his early years moving with his family before eventually calling Edmond home. He graduated from Edmond Memorial High School and later earned his degree from the University of Oklahoma. Andy built a successful career in sales, spending much of his professional life in higher education publishing, where he was known for his dedication and strong relationships.
Andy believed deeply in giving back to his community. He served with pride for nearly thirteen years as a member of the Barnegat Volunteer Fire Department and also completed a term on the Barnegat Public School Board. Through this service, Andy demonstrated a lasting commitment to the town he called home and to the people he served.
Outside of work and service, Andy found great joy in live music. A true enthusiast, he loved experiencing music in all its forms, from Dave Matthews Band concerts to the energy and storytelling of Broadway musicals. Music was a source of connection and happiness for Andy, and it remained a constant presence throughout his life.
Andy will be deeply missed by his children, his family, and the many relatives and friends who loved him across West Virginia, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and New Jersey. His warmth, humor, generosity, and spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
A celebration of Andy’s life will be held in Edmond, OK, at the end of April, with the date and time to be announced soon. The family looks forward to gathering with loved ones to honor his memory.
