Michael J. Amato

Michael J. Amato, 80, of Waretown, NJ passed on Sunday, June 5, 2022. Born in Newark, NJ to his late parents, Alfonso and Emily Amato, he was a United States Air Force Veteran. Raised in Union Township, Michael earned his Bachelors Degree from Rutgers University. Formerly of Edison and Flemington, NJ, he has been a resident of Waretown for 14 years. Michael had a passion for art and was also an accomplished painter.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 49 years, Carol; three loving children, Carolyn Amato, Christine Brown (Rocky), Catherine Edwards (Scott); three cherished grandchildren, Jacob and Jaxon Brown and Wesley Edwards; three siblings, Robert Amato (Linda), Allyn Amato (Mark Montel) and Dorothy Gural (John). He is predeceased by his brother, John Amato.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 13, 2022 from 10 to 11:30 AM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 W. Bay Ave., Barnegat, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial to follow 12:00 PM at St. Mary’s Church, Barnegat. Interment in Bg. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Vet. Mem. Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ. (www.BarnegatFH.com)
