Marilyn T. Foster, 81, of Barnegat, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on February 28, 2025. Born in Cape May, Marilyn raised her family in Freehold, then moved to Barnegat in 2003.
Marilyn is a proud graduate of Middle Township High School and Georgian Court College where she chose to focus her career on Education. Her commitment to her students shone brightly throughout her esteemed career. She retired after 25 years of teaching English and Special Education at Freehold Township High School where she had a tremendous impact on the students and staff who loved and adored her.
Marilyn was the perfect depiction of elegance and grace - a woman whose presence commanded admiration without ever seeking it. Through her eclectic sense of style and one of a kind personality, Marilyn left an incredible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Marilyn was a social butterfly who never met a stranger and was loved by all. She had a huge heart, would give the shirt off her own back to anyone who needed it, and devoted her spare time to numerous charities that helped animals and underprivileged children. Marilyn also served as a Board Member for the East Lynne Theater Company in Cape May where she is known for planning and sponsoring fundraising events.
Marilyn was the beloved daughter and predeceased by her parents, Nettie ("Blossom") and Mike Zilnick. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Daniel Foster, and their children, Michele Ongsiaco (Ed), Dana Notarnicola, and Erik Foster (Suzie). She adored her five grandchildren, Jake Ongsiaco (Vito), Erika Foster (Daniel), Matthew Notarnicola, Christopher Notarnicola and Jamison Foster. She is also survived by her sister, Bonnie Palmer (Rob) and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
