Manuel S. Teles

Manuel Teles, born on November 13, 1944, in Aveiro, Portugal, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2025, shortly after his 81st birthday. 

At the age of 19, he immigrated first to Brazil at the age of 19, where he lived for 5 years, and then to the United States to be with his brother, met his wife, and started a family. He worked as a Customer Service Cargo Representative for Varig Airlines until retirement. 

He was the true family man, working hard to give his family every opportunity for a better life. 

Manuel loved to spend time with family and friends enjoying the “small things” like fishing, hunting, and barbeques. He was extremely proud of his Portuguese heritage and returned to Portugal as often as possible see his mother, family, and friends.

He is predeceased by the love of his life Arminda Teles, his brother John Teles, and survived by his son Michael Teles, daughter in-law Janine Teles, four Grandchildren Santino, Adriana, Francesca, and Giovanna, sister in-laws Jacinta Teles, Maria Lopes and Fernanda Lopes, nephews Arminio, Luis, and Bobby, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Manuel always brought a smile to everyone’s face, was the life party, and will be missed terribly.

Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025 from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 W. Bay Ave., Barnegat, NJ. Memorial Mass to follow, 9:30 AM at St. Mary's Church, Barnegat.
