Lynn Mildred Reebe, 79, of Barnegat, NJ passed away on January 8, 2026 surrounded by family and abounding with love. She is known for her incredible strength, her kindness, and her creative mind and will be very missed.
Born in 1946 in New Brunswick, NJ, Lynn was the daughter of Lawrence and Beatrice Dowling of Queens, NY. She was predeceased by her parents, and her husband, Charles T. Reebe in September 2025. She is survived by her sister, Deborah Ferrazzoli and husband, Mike Ferrazzoli of North Kingstown, RI, her daughter, Lisa Lalor and spouse, Michael Lalor of Holly Springs, NC, Laura Reebe and partner, Sharon Cost of Hamilton, NJ, as well as her four grandchildren, Michael Lalor Jr., Abigail Lalor, Kaitlyn Lalor, and Shane Cost-Reebe.
Lynn was a classical piano prodigy at any early age, studying with Madam Combe of the French School of Music in Plainfield, NJ. She graduated from Dunellen High School in 1964 and attended Farleigh Dickinson University, going on to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Education in 1968 and a Master of Education from Kean University in the 1980s.
Lynn married her high school sweetheart, Charles T. Reebe, in 1966. Charles and Lynn moved to South Plainfield in 1970 where they resided and raised their daughters until Lynn retired in 2006 from the South Plainfield School District as a Special Education Teacher for the Middle and Elementary Schools.
As a school teacher, Lynn was loved by her students and fellow teaching staff. She had a positive influence on their lives, some of her students still remember how influential she was to their growth 35 years later. During her tenure she received countless requests for letters of recommendations, hundreds of thank you notes, and had the opportunity to really make a positive impact on all her students.
Lynn was very crafty and creative throughout her life. She loved fashion, singing in the choir, playing piano, and painting. Writing, however, was her main passion and she always had the dream of publishing a book. She accomplished this goal in 2013 when she published her first poetry book, “Table for One”. Both her daughters, Lisa and Laura, promised their mom they would publish her second volume of poetry soon. Stay Tuned.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026 from 4 to 7 PM with a Funeral Service at 6:45 PM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 West Bay Avenue, Barnegat, NJ.
