Luigi Ciappa

Luigi Ciappa, 84, of Manahawkin, NJ passed on Saturday, June 1, 2024. Born in Caccamo, Italy to his late parents, Salvatore and Concetta Ciappa, he emigrated in 1964 to Philadelphia, PA and formerly resided in Lyndhurst, NJ and Wantage, NJ before moving to Manahawkin in 1998.

Luigi worked as a Long Shorman for Sealand before opening his own Trucking Company and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Sylvia; two loving children, Salvatore and his wife, Maria Ciappa and Tina and her husband, David Hart; four cherished grandchildren, Mia, Nicolas, Zachary and Zoie; brother, Giovanni and his wife, Maria Ciappa; as well as many loving nieces and nephews from Sicily. He is pre-deceased by two brothers, Pedro and Gaetano Ciappa.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 from 4 to 8 PM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 West Bay Avenue, Barnegat, NJ.

A Mass of Christian Burial offered Thursday, 11:00 AM Thursday at St. Mary Of The Pines Church, Manahawkin. Entombment to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Manahawkin. (www.BarnegatFH.com)
