Lauren M. Bryant

Lauren Bryant, 70, long time resident of Waretown, NJ passed away February 28, 2025 just 6 months after losing her beloved husband John C Bryant.  She was born Lauren Mary Baker on September 21,1954 in Philadelphia, PA.  Lauren moved with her parents, Richard F Baker and Ellen W Baker from Philadelphia to their vacation home at the shore in the Holiday Harbor section of Waretown during her freshman year of high school. She remained there throughout her life on Lighthouse Drive, raising her four children and spending time with the Lord in her beautiful, abundant garden. Lauren worked for the Ocean County Board of Social Services for 28 years as a dedicated public servant in the Toms River, Manahawkin and Lakewood offices retiring in 2018. She was a member of the Barnegat Bay Assembly of God Church for the past 30 years and was known for her faithfulness, grace and loving spirit.

Lauren was predeceased by her parents lovingly know as “Chic and Dick”, her first husband Dan Thompson (60), the father of her four children and Jonh C Bryant (73) who was her 2nd act love story. She is also survived by her two brothers, Richard Baker and his wife Maryanne Baker of Linwood Pa, and Alan Baker and his wife Kerry Baker of Forked River, NJ. Lauren was a devoted Mother to Dan Thompson (52), Brendon Thompson (50), Jason Thompson (48) and is wife Rebecca Thompson (46) and her daughter Kristen Thompson-Huber (47) all of Forked River, NJ. Lauren was blessed with six grandchildren; Brittany Chow (30) and her husband Dr. Michael Chow, Justin Thompson (26) and his fiancé Kelly Fleck, Ryan Thompson (24) and his fiancé Anna Cannizzaro, Lori Thompson (18), Maverick Huber (17) and Phoenix Huber (13) and one great granddaughter Maya Chow (21-months). Lauren was also cherished by her many nieces and nephews; Eileen, Rick, Scott, Kimberly, Jennifer, Alan, Tammy, Marlin, Michael, Carol, Denise (predeceased), Tom and Joshua and so many other extraordinary family members and loved ones.  Please join us for services.

Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025 from 2 to 4 and  6 to 8 PM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 West Bay Ave., Barnegat, NJ. Church service March 8, 2025 at 10 am at Main Street Alliance Church in Manahawkin, NJ. (www.BarnegatFH.com)
