Kenneth K. Thomas, 89, of Waretown, NJ passed on Saturday, June 29, 2024. Born in Taylor, PA to his late parents, Walter and Arline Thomas, he was formerly of Bridgewater, NJ and a United States Marine Corps Veteran who loved his country and was proud to be a Marine. Ken loved all sports and played farm league baseball and football in his youth. He was a self-employed architect and enjoyed playing golf since retiring to Barnegat 23 years ago. He also loved dogs and was often known to carry treats for the dogs he came across. Affectionately known as “Poppy” to his grandchildren, his greatest love was his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Dorothy; five loving children, Kenny Thomas (Deb), Karl Thomas (Elise), Jennifer Thomas, Kathy Toye (Chuck), Susan Brennan (Michael); fifteen cherished grandchildren, Amber, Sage, Wyatt, Chloe, Carson, Danielle, Chuck, Kaitlin, Jacob, Rebekah, Kathryn, McKenna, Emily, Liz, Samantha; five great-grandchildren, Gavin, Liv, Charles, Brandon, Jayden; many loving nephews and nieces as well as his devoted dog, Sophie. He was pre-deceased by his son, Michael Wasik; brother, Wally Thomas and nephew, Mark Thomas.
Memorial Gathering will be held Friday, July 5, 2024 from 1 to 4 PM with Military Honors to follow at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 W. Bay Ave., Barnegat, NJ.
