Karen Perez passed away on Friday, June 21, 2019 at the age of 29. Those 29 years were filled with memories of a loving family and caring friends. The later years were also filled with a struggle against the demons within which ultimately took her from all of us.
Karen was quite an outgoing person. Her sense of humor was silly and fun in a way that allowed her to connect with virtually anybody. Her laugh was as boisterous as it was contagious. She cared deeply for her friends and family, who are devastated by her loss.
Despite her struggles with addiction, Karen remained heavily involved in her work, her community from her recovery, and her family. She adored her family, especially her four young nieces and nephews. She was regarded by her employer as hardworking and reliable. She helped many people and possibly saved some lives through her involvement in the Recovery community, traveling anywhere from local venues all the way to neighboring states to attend several meetings a week.
Karen Perez was a beautiful person and a kind hearted woman taken far too soon. We will miss her immeasurably.
She is survived by her beloved parents, Jose and Maria Perez; her loving sister and brother, Brenda and husband Daniel Donovan, Edward and wife Cecelia Perez; four cherished nieces and nephews, Andrew, Daniel, Adriana and Lucia.
Viewing Thursday, June 27, 2019 from 5 to 8 Pm and Friday from 9 to 11 AM with a Blessing Service at 9:30 AM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 W. Bay Ave., Barnegat. Private cremation to follow.
