Judith A. Swanson

Judy Swanson, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on Thursday, October 16 at the age of 81 peacefully surrounded by the family she loved so deeply. She is survived by her loving husband, George Kenneth Swanson, and her three daughters and their husbands — Debbie and Matthew, Karen and Jose, and Christine and Edward. She was also a proud and adoring grandmother to Hannah, Cole, and Joseph, who brought endless joy to her life.

Judy spent her life caring for others, both in her work and in her everyday actions. She worked for many years at a nursing home, a childcare center and as a private childcare giver — roles that perfectly reflected her gentle, nurturing nature and her lifelong dedication to helping people of all ages. Her compassion, patience, and kindness touched everyone she met.

Judy also loved volunteering and could often be found lending a hand wherever it was needed. She had a wonderful eye for decorating, filling every space she touched with warmth and beauty — just as she did with the lives of those around her. Her legacy of kindness, generosity, and care will continue to live on through her family and all whose lives were brightened by her presence.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor her memory by performing an act of kindness or helping someone in need — just as Judy did every day of her life.

Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025 from 1 to 3 PM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 West Bay Ave., Barnegat, NJ. (www.BarnegatFH.com)
