Joyce M. Robertson, 83, of Waretown, NJ passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, December 28, 2025.
Born in New Brunswick, NJ she graduated from St. Peter’s High School where she earned high honors with a business award. She worked as a legal administrative professional then as a technical writer for AT&T.
Joyce was an exuberant, kind, and caring woman who welcomed all. She was a woman of strong faith as exemplified by her role in the Catholic Church as a Principal of the CCD program in Vallejo, CA. She became a Eucharistic Minister with St. Joseph’s in Hillsborough and St. Mary’s in Barnegat, distributing holy communion at mass and to the sick and homebound. She was a founding member of the Yamba Uganda Ministry, an initiative that reflected her profound belief in the power of community and service. Her efforts were pivotal in building St Lillian’s Home in Uganda, providing care for disabled orphans. Joyce was an adventurous and world traveler, which led her to visit all seven continents. She was also known for her love of Scrabble, crafts, sewing, and needlepoint.
Above all, she loved her family.
Surviving are her beloved husband of 64 years, John T. Robertson; two loving daughters, Janet and husband, Damon Thornburg and Jill and husband, Seth Rothman and two cherished granddaughters, Stephanie and Alyssa Rothman.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026 from 9 to 10:30 AM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 W. Bay Ave., Barnegat, NJ 08005. Mass to follow, 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Church, Barnegat. Entombment to follow in St. Bernard Cemetery, Bridgewater. (www.BarnegatFH.com)
