Josephine Racioppi, 97, of Barnegat, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2025. Born in Bayonne, she has been a resident at Pheasant Run Adult Community for the last 30+ years.
Predeceased by her beloved husband, Aretino, she is survived by her 3 loving children, Joseph, Michael and wife Carol, and Carolyn; 2 cherished grandchildren Jessica and husband Malcolm, and Nicholas; and one precious great grandchild Georgina; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Josephine lived a long and wonderful life surrounded by her family and many dear friends she met over her 97 years while living in Livingston, Randolph, Succasunna and Barnegat, NJ, as well as Massachusetts and Michigan. She outlived her husband, all her siblings, and many of her friends. Jo or Aunt Josie, as she was called, was very talented – an avid knitter and crocheter, excellent seamstress, and absolutely the world’s best cook. She was involved in the St. Mary’s Church crafting group and a long time member of the Silver Liners Senior Club.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 3, 2025 from 3 to 7 PM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 West Bay Ave., Barnegat, NJ. Mass offered Tuesday, 10:00 AM at St Mary’s Catholic Church, 747 West Bay Ave, Barnegat, NJ 08005. Interment to follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
