On Tuesday, August 6, 2024, John “Jack” Bajar passed away peacefully after a long fight, in a manner which like he lived his life. He was 83 years of age. Jack was born to Helen and Aloysius Bajar in Teaneck and grew up in Cliffside Park, NJ. Upon graduating Cliffside High, Jack entered an apprenticeship program which he completed after 3 years to become a Union Pipefitter for Local 274 in Ridgefield, NJ. Jack loved the Jersey Shore and spent most of his free time becoming an accomplished surfer. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968.
Upon retirement and for the last 20 years, Jack called Barnegat his home. He was an avid golfer and boater (which replaced his surfing days!) and you could always find him either at the course or on the water! He also enjoyed spending time with friends and looked forward to hosting the annual holiday parties with Eileen.
Jack was a proud husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his loving wife, Eileen (Devlin) Bajar; his son, Michael and daughters, Jill and Lori; his four grandchildren, Brandon, Samantha, Ty and Natalie; his two nieces and three nephews. He is also survived by his four-legged companion, Callie.
Memorial Gathering will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2024 from 4 to 7 at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 West Bay Ave., Barnegat, NJ. (www.BarnegatFH.com)
