John Pellegrini was born on August 10, 1940 and passed away on July 14, 2025. He was the fraternal twin of Arthur F. Pellegrini who passed away in 2017. They were born in Brooklyn to Margaret (DiGiorgi) and Arthur Pellegrini before moving to Staten Island.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Angela (Colucci) Pellegrini and his two children Bernadette Connors (Kevin) and Arthur (Terri) as well as his 4 grandchildren - Kelly, Ryan, and Colleen Connors and Trevor Pellegrini. He is predeceased by his son Anthony.
John enlisted in the Army for 4 years and has such great respect for this country that he continued his duties in the Army Reserves. When John and Angela got married, he worked as a mail carrier for the US Post Office. After having children, he moved on to work for the NYC MTA as a bus drive and worked his way up to supervisor. John loved playing baseball and watching the Mets. He also had a great love for the game of golf, but his greatest love was spending time with his friends and family. Many loved his jokes and funny stories. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025 from 4 to 7 PM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 West Bay Avenue, Barnegat, NJ. Mass and Military Honors offered Friday, 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Church, Barnegat. Private Cremation to follow.
