John O’Kean, 77, of Barnegat passed on September 11, 2025. Born in Jersey City to John and Doreen O’Kean, John was a US Navy veteran who began his career as a union carpenter, eventually establishing his carpentry business in Hoboken for 42 years. John coached Little League for both of his sons, loved classic cars, classic rock, Sudoku, and his favorite sports teams. He was known for his silly trivia, jokes and constant teasing.
John is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Lorraine, his two loving sons, John (Sarah) and Jim (Shannon), his 4 cherished grandchildren, Caleb, Madelyn, Ashlyn and Jack and his sister Jeannette and brother-in-law Tony along with numerous extended family.
Memorial Gathering will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2025 from 12 to 2 PM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 West Bay Ave., Barnegat, NJ. (www.BarnegatFH.com)
