John DeGennaro, 81 of Barnegat, NJ passed on Friday, August 8, 2025 peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born February 29, 1944 to Corrado and Anna (DeCandia) DeGennaro in Hoboken N.J. John was a graduate of A.J. Demarest High School in Hoboken, where he met his future wife, Regina. He graduated from Rutgers University in 1970 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. John started his career in Personnel Administration with Singer-Kearfott and retired as Director of Employment with BAE Systems.
John and Regina lived for many years in Saddle Brook NJ. Upon retirement in 2005, they moved to Heritage Point in Barnegat where he enjoyed many social activities. John and Regina traveled extensively with many cruises, trips to Europe and the Caribbean. They spent their winters in Delray Beach, Florida.
John was predeceased by his parents, Corrado and Anna, and brothers Maurice and Dominick.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Regina (Costante), 3 sons, John (Michele), Jeffrey (Jeanette) and David (Ana). Also survived by 4 grandchildren, Nicholas, Matthew, Claudia and Vincent DeGennaro, sister Rose Arndt (Bob), brother Peter and many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by a wide circle of friends
Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 13, 2025 from 4 to 8 PM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 W. Bay Ave., Barnegat, NJ. ( www.BarnegatFH.com) Mass offered Thursday 11 AM at St. Mary's Church, Barnegat. Cremation will be private with inurnment at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ
