Joan M. DeStefano

Joan M. DeStefano, 90, of Barnegat, NJ passed peacefully at home on Thursday, October 5, 2023. Born in Allentown, PA to her late parents, Walter and Mary (John) Hendricks, where she graduated Central Catholic High School and Sacred Heart School of Nursing and pursued a career in health care. Joan married her husband Ralph in 1958 and lived in Washington DC for 5 years before moving to New York and later to New Jersey. They settled in Barnegat in 2000. Joan enjoyed staying informed of current events and her favorite pastime was oil painting.

Predeceased by her beloved husband, Ralph J. DeStefano, Jr., she is survived by two loving children, Mary Elizabeth Mullen and John Hendricks DeStefano; two cherished great grandchildren, Dalton and Rylan.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 from 5 to 8 PM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 West Bay Ave., Barnegat, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Thursday, 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Church, Barnegat, NJ. Interment will follow in Bg. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Vet. Mem. Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ. (www.BarnegatFH.com)
