Joan D. Copio

Joan D. Copio, 91, of Whitehall, PA passed on Wednesday, February 11, 2026. Born and raised in Elizabeth, NJ by her late parents, Warren and Alberta Laughinghouse, where she lived before moving to Forked River 50 years ago.

Joan was employed as a Teacher’s Aide for the Waretown Board of Education. She was also very active in St. Mary’s Church in Barnegat and served as an extraordinary minister.

Predeceased by her beloved husband of 58 years, Bruce, she is survived by her three daughters and their spouses, Susan and Robert Bender, Kathy and Robert Zebroski, Beth Copio; three sons and their spouses, Bruce C. and Dora, James and Diane, Louis and Lori Copio; sixteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 from 9 to 11 AM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 W. Bay Ave., Barnegat, NJ. Mass offered Tuesday, 11:30 AM at St. Mary's Church, Barnegat. Private Interment will be held in Bg. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Vet. Mem. Cem., Arneytown, NJ.
