Jennie Cassin

Jennie Cassin, 94, of Manahawkin, NJ passed on Sunday, August 24, 2025. Born in Newark, NJ, she was one of six children born to her late parents, John and Vienna Goione. She was formerly of Belleville, NJ where she was a devoted teacher of both elementary and high school. She resided in Barnegat where she was a member of the Friends of the Barnegat Library and ultimately retired to her shore home in Manahawkin where she had summered for many years.

She was past president of the Italian American Club in Manahawkin as well as a dedicated volunteer at SOCH Gift Shop.

Predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert and her loving daughter, Teresa Cassin, she is survived by her two loving children, Joan and her husband, Robert Lee and Robert, Jr. and his wife, Barbara Cassin; four cherished grandchildren, Michele Kozlow (Robert), Jonathan Pennetti (Stephanie), Robert Cassin, III, Alexandra Cassin; two adored great-granddaughters, Liana Pennetti and Sadie Pennetti; her brother, Bill and his wife, Marie Goione; brother-in-law, George Herter.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 from 4 to 7 PM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 West Bay Ave., Barnegat, NJ. Mass offered Thursday, 11:00 AM at St. St Francis of Assisi Church, 4700 Long Beach Blvd, Brant Beach, NJ 08008. Private interment to be held in Bg. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Vet. Mem. Cem., Arneytown, NJ.
