**In Loving Memory of Janet A. Wyrsch**
June 1, 1945 – June 5, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Janet A. Wyrsch, who left this world on June 5, 2025, just days after celebrating her 80th birthday. Janet lived a life full of love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to those she cherished.
Born on June 1, 1945, Janet grew up in Sayreville, NJ before later settling in Long Beach Island and then Manahawkin. She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Janette and John Rupp, and her brother, Raymond Rupp. She is survived by her devoted husband, Dave Wyrsch Sr., who stood by her side through life’s many joys and challenges.
Janet was a loving mother to JoAnn Hahl (Jim), Ronald Brummer (Nicole), and Michael Brummer (Christina), and a caring stepmother to Dave Wyrsch Jr. (Dawn), Jeff Wyrsch (Lori), Dan Wyrsch (Michelle), and Cindy Wyrsch Kelley (Jim). She was also an adoring grandmother to Brittany (Jake), Joey, Dana (Ryan), Maddie, Ethan, Michael (Hannah), Rebecca, Jimmy, Krystle (Joe), David, Gabe, Sarah, Kailee, Kendal, Konner, Billy, Nathan, Evan, Aaron, Jack, Alex, Katie, Emma, Clara, James, and Robert, and a proud great-grandmother to Shay, Ariana, Gavin, and Landon.
Janet built a distinguished career with The Van Dyk Group, where she started working under the original owner in the late 1960s. Through hard work and dedication, she later purchased the company with her husband, Dave, creating a lasting legacy in the local business world. She was also deeply committed to her community, proudly serving on the Board of Directors for All Saints Catholic School—the first of its kind in the area. Janet was honored as Girl Scouts Woman of the Year and recognized as one of Southern Ocean County Hospital’s People of the Year, alongside her husband.
Janet’s love for family, friends, and her community was boundless. She treasured moments spent with loved ones and was always ready with open arms, a listening ear, and words of encouragement. Her generosity and compassion knew no limits, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A Celebration of Life Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at St. Mary’s Church in Barnegat, NJ at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Ken’s Kitchen at St. Mary’s in Manahawkin, NJ in Janet’s memory.
As we celebrate Janet’s life, we remember the lessons she taught us—about love, resilience, and the beauty of simple moments. Though she may no longer walk among us, her spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
