Jane Frances Garrity Boud, aged 86, passed to eternal life on Oct. 3, 2024 at home. She was a graduate of Montclair State College (BA,1960) where she was a member of Theta Chi Rho sorority. In mid-life, she returned to school and earned a Masters Degree from Kean University (MALS).
Jane was born in Newark, NJ and was always fond of telling stories about her early days there. When she was twelve, her family moved to Union, NJ where she spent the rest of her childhood and was graduated from Union High School. She met her husband of 64 years, Dwight Boud, at Montclair State and they were married at St. Michael’s RC Church in Union in 1960. They had three children: Douglas Boud, James (Jamie) Boud, and Laura Ellen Boud. She was the loving grandmother of three granddaughters: Cassidy (Slinger, Johnson), Hayden Abraham, and Amelia Hosine. She had six great grandchildren whom she loved dearly: Julia, Owen, Everett, William, Omar, and Isabella.
She was predeceased by her brother, John Robert Garrity of Toms River, NJ.
In her early adulthood, she was extremely active in numerous occupations including as a speech therapist, a teacher of English for Berlitz School, a real estate sales person, and an associate in an executive search company.
Jane was a warm-hearted woman with a wonderful, spontaneous sense of humor. Despite being incapacitated for thirty plus years by polymyositis, an auto-immune disease, she never lost her cheerful disposition. She was deeply devoted to her family and her many friends and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
