Obituary
James C. Woomer, 76, of Forked River, NJ, sadly left us suddenly on Monday, Sept. 4, 2023. He was born in Newark, NJ, to his late parents, Charles and Helen Woomer.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 41 years, Gayle (Piper) Woomer; his son, Josh Woomer; his stepchildren, Crystal Schaffer and Vincent Letizia, and their spouses and children. He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Woomer, and his sister, Judith Adams.
Jim served honorably in the US Army in the 1960s, and went on to a career in the service and sanitation industries. Jim’s love of fishing and the ocean led him to retire near the water where he was happiest.
A private memorial will be held at a later date. Should friends desire, contributions honoring Jim may be sent to St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
