James F. Jackman, 64, of Reno, NV passed on Wednesday, September 4, 2024. Born in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn, NY, to his parents James and Joanne Jackman, he joined the United States Navy where he served on Submarines. After being discharged from the Navy, James enjoyed traveling. He settled in Arizona and then moved to Reno, NV. Over time, his passion for animals led him to become a Veterinary Technician and an advocate for caring for stray animals. James also became actively involved in the program, “Strays to Service” for emotional therapy animals.
He is survived by his beloved father, James F. Jackman; two loving sisters, Vicky Fornasar (John) and Barbara Rauer (John); niece, Meghan Solden (Michael); two nephews, Richard and Matthew; great niece, Cora; sister-in-law, Lori Jackman; faithful companion and service animal, Banzai.
He is predeceased by his mother, Joanne Jackman; two brothers, Mark Jackman and Edward Jackman.
Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 1 to 4 PM followed by a Blessing 4:00 PM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 West Bay Ave., Barnegat, NJ. (www.BarnegatFH.com)
