Hayward McBee

Hayward McBee was surrounded by family as he departed this life to be with the Lord on January 24, 2021. He was born on June 19, 1948, at Bayshore Hospital in Bayshore, Long Island. Hayward graduated from Center Moriches High School and later served our country in the United States Army as a Military Police Officer. He was also a proud veteran of the Vietnam War.

In 1972, Hayward married the love of his life, Jean Campbell-McBee. They were blessed with three children: Sheldon, Dwight and Maxine (deceased). Hayward worked in Manhattan for what is now known as Verizon, for over 30 years before retiring in 1998. He then worked as a security officer at Community Medical Center in Toms River, and then retired for a second time in 2018. Hayward loved attending the semi-annual Hurt Waller Family reunion. He was the founder of the NJ chapter, who successfully hosted the most recent reunion in 2019.

Hayward is survived by his wife Jean, of 48 years, his oldest son Sheldon and wife Sarah, his son Dwight and wife Karen, and his four beautiful granddaughter, Maya, Siena, Cora and Chloe. He also leaves behind many brothers, sisters and extended family who loved him very much. Hayward will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him. They will cherish the memories of him in their hearts forever.

Viewing will be held on Friday, January 29, 2021 from 2-5 PM with a Funeral Service at 5:00 PM at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 West Bay Avenue, Barnegat, NJ.
