Gregory Mates

Gregory Mates, 96, of Manahawkin, NJ, passed peacefully at home on Thursday, August 13, 2020. Born in Pittsburgh, PA,  to his late parents, Anthony and Mary Mates, Gregory was a US Navy Veteran and lived in Ridgefield, NJ for most of his life; residing in Manahawkin since 1997. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Catherine; two loving children, Karen, and her husband, Thomas Sokol and George Mates and two cherished grandchildren, John Sokol and Michelle Davis. He is pre-deceased by his brothers, Harry and Peter, and his sister, Helen. 

Viewing will be Monday, August 17 from 4-7pm at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 West Bay Avenue, Barnegat, NJ. Blessing Tuesday, 11am.
